Comedian Bone Hampton, who will open for Chonda during her Chonda Pierce: Live in Concert” tour, has been described “as down home as collards and cornbread, as sharp as a pick ax, and as funny as a possum in a petticoat.” Hampton is a master at making audiences feel like family. Chonda stars as Bonnie Taylor, a small-town, down-on-her-luck waitress who reluctantly enters a karaoke contest at a county fair. As a last-ditch effort to save her house from foreclosure, she competes for the first-place prize money. The film was produced by Third Coast Content and financed by Endeavor Content.

Also in 2019, Chonda released “Unashamed,” her largest documentary film project to date, showing on more than 1,000 U.S. screens. Chonda’s third documentary captures her personal triumphs that she shared in her 2017 documentary “Enough.” In ‘Unashamed,” Chonda interviews both well-known and little-known Christians on their commitment to stand for Christ amid cultural backlash.
